Eng. Lorenzo Rossano

 

 

Mr. Rossano is Professor of Bioengineering Electronics - University of Palermo (Italy).  He has supervised joint scientific projects with departmental laboratories and industries in Italy, the US, Israel and Japan.  In partnership with Graduate School of Business at Columbia University in New York, Mr. Rossano developed a mathematical model, MODELPROD, that helps improve productive processes.  As part of his academic work in the Microelectronics Lab he developed FORMYHEARTt, a microprocessor interface for data entry and clinical signals for patient management.  Formyheart can also be used as a Personal Mobile Device, capable of monitoring and transmitting vital sign telemetry in real time to doctors and record data to PCs and Smartphones.  He has managed the reorganization of Health Regional System (Italy), proposing appropriate models of health process optimization and cost reduction, involving about 100 Hospitals and 1500 work units at a cost of €300 million to reduce wait time for access to medical services by 30 percent.  Earlier Mr. Rossano was a manufacturing company manager.  He has relationships with scientific departments, academics and business, in several industrialized countries; He has published several texts on the control of production and health processes for FrancoAngeli publisher and on Electronic Bioengineering and Biological Systems for McGraw Hill and he is currently engaged with academic colleagues in the forthcoming publication of a six-volume treatise for technicians on Hospital Innovation (Bioengineering - Telemedicine - Artificial Intelligence). He is of the list of Innovation Managers accredited by MISE - Italian Ministry of Economic Development). Degrees: BS Electronic Engineering; MS Bioengineering.
